About Us
The University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine opened its doors in 2007. We are a relatively small medical school with an average cohort size of 80 students. The course is delivered across two campuses on the south coast of NSW, in Wollongong and Shoalhaven. The curriculum includes a focus on rural and regional health, preparing graduates for a career anywhere in Australia.
The Wollongong University Medical Students' Society (WUMSS), is a society that aims to support all med-heads both in an academic sense and in terms of general welfare.
Our website has a list of constantly updated academic resources which you might find handy. We also have a couple of student representatives for each cohort that you can have a chat to about anything that might be of concern.
We also organise a number of events, big and small, from cocktail nights to pub crawls, from lectures to balls. Check out the Events section of this website for more info on planned events this year. Alternatively just track down a member of the WUMSS exec. for the low-down on what’s going on.
Finally, WUMSS also exists to aid communication between the student body and the faculty, and can act as the medium through which comments, questions and suggestions can be passed on to the staff.
